Walking, cycling, sightseeing, riding, exploring or just experiencing the tranquillity of a magnificent landscape - it really is a question of ‘where to start?’

Enjoy the Area!

The area abounds in ancient pathways that make walking a genuine pleasure and a perfect way to experience this countryside ‘off the beaten track’. Many walks are well-marked and it is possible to explore for miles without encountering cars and with dogs off-lead ! The ‘Odcombe Parish’ circular walk detailed in the link below is an excellent place to begin.

If your walk absolutely must have panoramic views and history at every moment, then the 164 hectare Ham Hill Country Park with its vistas over the south Somerset Moors, Mendips and Exmoor is definitely the place to be. Follow the link to explore further.

Alternatively, for a cultural and artistic experience, the National Trust’s Montacute House, a spectacular masterpiece of Elizabethan Renaissance architecture, is within easy walking distance of Odcombe. Learn more about the buildings, grounds and their National Portrait Gallery exhibitions through the link.

Cyclists of all levels are in their element in the local area ! Whether it’s gentle outings to explore the local countryside and its villages or 100 mile head-down days in the saddle, it’s all here. The link enables you to explore the South Somerset Cycle Route but outings down to the Jurassic Coast through idyllic countryside might be even better!
